Welcome to the section of our website dedicated to Allard car clubs! The Allard Motor Company were a relatively short lived British manufacturer who produced some exceptionally powerful and prestigious vehicles that stole the hearts of those who drove them ensuring that many are still owned and operated by collectors and enthusiasts to this day. From 1936 until 1966 a small amount of Allard cars were unveiled to the public until the factory finally closed its doors for good, however those that were released adopted a very unique design philosophy, place a large V8 big block engine imported from the United States into a high performance lightweight British sports car. With such astounding performance and such innovative thinking it is no wonder that there are quite a few car clubs and owners clubs dedicated to the company even though they only released a small number of vehicles over the years.

Originally Allard intended their vehicles to be used in races and time trial events, and when you choose to visit one of the many car clubs shown on our site you will quickly see some of these early Allard's that are designed with pure power and high torque in mind. Some Allard car clubs even have members who drive some very rare vehicles powered by Lincoln V12's that were excellent for use in drag racing and in time trials. World War II saw Allard having to re-think their designs somewhat as many engine components were being directed to help provide aero-engine parts for the war effort, so production all but stopped until the war finished. In the post war years a number of very unique sports cars were produced and many car clubs boast owners still driving these stunningly rare beauties. It was actually in the US that Allard found their saviour and the US market was much more amenable to their high powered, high speed designs, and many of the car clubs shown here will have owners who drive these more unique post war designs that focus on the American market.

Sadly as many car clubs will tell you Allard were doomed to fail from the outset and although they produced some stunning vehicles their “big engine, high speed” philosophy soon fell by the wayside as other companies embraced new technologies and techniques developed during the war in order to make faster, lighter, better performing vehicles at a fraction of the cost that Allard were forced to charge in order to break even. Many car clubs return to the original factory site each year for reunions in order to bring their vehicles back to their spiritual home even though it is now 26 luxury garden units. There is also a company in Canada producing a new Allard vehicle under license, the J2X Mk II. You will find more and more people in car clubs owning this unique and stunning vehicle and bringing it along to meetings and events. If you are a member of any Allard car clubs and want to see your club listed here please contact us immediately and we will be in touch as soon as possible.
