Throughout 2006 the Historic Vehicle Research Institute carried out the largest ever investigation into the economic, social and cultual impact of historic vehicles on behalf of Fédération Internationale des Vehicles Anciens. The investigation focused on the EU and drew its evidence from eleven countries. 800,000 questionnaires were distributed to individual club members, trading companies and vehicle clubs. Presentations to diplomats, parliamentarians and press were made both in Brussels and London.
