The MG car club recently turned to Huddersfield garage owner John Denton and asked if they could borrow his pride and joy for an event. Mr Denton had spent many years restoring a classic MG CGT and it took pride of place atop the MG stand at the International Classic Car Show at the Birmingham NEC. The MG car club were keep to display something in as original condition as possible and Mr Denton's vehicle was perfect as it had hardly been used for nearly forty years. The car was first registered in London in 1970 and purchased by Mr Denton in 1972. The car took part in an MG Car Club spring race in 1973 where it took first place. The last five years have seen the vehicle be cleaned, polished and fully restored to its former glory so it could be enjoyed by everyone who visited the MG car club stand at the show. |
