History
The MX-5 Owners Club was formed in 1994 by three enthusiasts and in 1998 the Club became a limited company.

Administration of the Club's activities is carried out by a National Committee who are elected for a three-year term of office. They all give their time on a voluntary basis.

Aims
The principal aim of the MX-5 Owners Club is to encourage the use and enjoyment of the car through safe driving and an environment within which MX-5 owners and enthusiasts can meet and benefit from the exchange of ideas and experiences.

Membership
Membership is not only open to all owners of MX-5s, Roadsters and Miatas, (its name depending on which country the car was originally built for), but also to enthusiasts of the car who have yet to acquire one.

The Club has around 5,000 members, making it one of the largest MX-5 Owners Clubs in the world.

Club Magazine
The high quality Club magazine, Soft Top Hardtop (STHT), is published bi-monthly, and features articles on a variety of topics, as well as information on major MX-5 events both in the UK and elsewhere in the world. The magazine is well supported by the major MX-5 aftermarket suppliers who regularly take advertising space.

National Rallies
The Club organises at least two major national events a year - the Spring Rally usually held in April or May, and the National Rally held in late summer.

The location for the rallies changes each year so that all members have the benefit of one being held at a location accessible to them. Venues have included Harrowgate, Gaydon, Duxford, Edinburgh, Beaulieu, Weston Park, Lulworth, Cardiff and Goodwood.

Attendance at these national events is between 300-700 cars, with members coming from all over the country, as well as abroad, to participate.

Track Days
For those members who are keen to enhance their driving skills and explore the superb handling characteristics of the MX-5, there are numerous opportunities each year to take part in Track days arranged by the Club at various circuits throughout the UK.

Technical Advice
The Club's Technical Adviser, who also writes a regular feature in the magazine under the pseudonym of Dr Bob, provides technical advice for members on the care and maintenance of their MX-5 on request.
