Description:
Welcome to the West London Area. Our name is more a reflection of where we meet (Richmond) than our geographical coverage! If you're from South, West or North West London and some of the surrounding extremes of London then you probably fall into our area. We meet up socially once a month and have one or two other events each month. Sunday drives are usually popular, as are trips to motorsports events and weekends away. Over the past couple of years we have been to Cornwall, Yorkshire and Norfolk for long weekends - getting us well away from the London traffic. We have a wide age range of active members in the area, including some with young children. We also have a wide range of cars among our members, from standard specification through to highly modified and everything in-between! What we all have in common is a love of the MX5. It should therefore come as no surprise to learn that we welcome old, new and prospective members alike, whether you are from the West London area or any other part of the country. Check out our website to find out more about us.

History
The MX-5 Owners Club was formed in 1994 by three enthusiasts and in 1998 the Club became a limited company.

Administration of the Club's activities is carried out by a National Committee who are elected for a three-year term of office. They all give their time on a voluntary basis.

Aims
The principal aim of the MX-5 Owners Club is to encourage the use and enjoyment of the car through safe driving and an environment within which MX-5 owners and enthusiasts can meet and benefit from the exchange of ideas and experiences.

Membership
Membership is not only open to all owners of MX-5s, Roadsters and Miatas, (its name depending on which country the car was originally built for), but also to enthusiasts of the car who have yet to acquire one.

The Club has around 5,000 members, making it one of the largest MX-5 Owners Clubs in the world.

Club Magazine
The high quality Club magazine, Soft Top Hardtop (STHT), is published bi-monthly, and features articles on a variety of topics, as well as information on major MX-5 events both in the UK and elsewhere in the world. The magazine is well supported by the major MX-5 aftermarket suppliers who regularly take advertising space.

National Rallies
The Club organises at least two major national events a year - the Spring Rally usually held in April or May, and the National Rally held in late summer.

The location for the rallies changes each year so that all members have the benefit of one being held at a location accessible to them. Venues have included Harrowgate, Gaydon, Duxford, Edinburgh, Beaulieu, Weston Park, Lulworth, Cardiff and Goodwood.

Attendance at these national events is between 300-700 cars, with members coming from all over the country, as well as abroad, to participate.

Track Days
For those members who are keen to enhance their driving skills and explore the superb handling characteristics of the MX-5, there are numerous opportunities each year to take part in Track days arranged by the Club at various circuits throughout the UK.

Technical Advice
The Club's Technical Adviser, who also writes a regular feature in the magazine under the pseudonym of Dr Bob, provides technical advice for members on the care and maintenance of their MX-5 on request.
