New Electric Car Club Planned for Brighton

Posted on Monday, 14 November 2011 03:59PM by Editor
Brighton is set to get a brand new type of car club, and in this case the focus will be solely on electric vehicles. In particular this new car club will focus on a single Mercedes Vito E-Cell van, and it will be managed by the city car club and members will be able to use the van for local deliveries and collections.

The pioneering scheme is being spearheaded by charging point company Elektromotive who will set up points to meet the needs of the car club. The new charging stations offered by the company can charge a compatible vehicles battery to 80% in 20 minutes.

This new car club is designed to be available to traders who have a business in Brighton's London Road Open Market. It is hoped that the scheme can be expanded and many more eco friendly car clubs of this type will be created in the future.
