Rolls Royce Car Clubs

Rolls Royce Cars have been popular the world over since their inception in 1904 following the partnership of Charles Stewart Rolls and Henry Royce. Since then, Rolls Royce have produced many luxury cars that have a timeless appeal. The first more recognisable Rolls Royce was the Silver Ghost, produced between 1906 and 1925. With an improved 6 cylinder engine, the popularity of the of the car led to other models being discontinued. Demand was so high in fact that a second factory was opened in Springfield, Massachusetts to build them for the American market. Following World War I the Twenty was introduced; a cheaper model designed to allow for car sales in a less stable economic market. This led to the growth of many differnet car clubs over the years. Now car clubs can be found all over the world dedicated to these beautiful cars.

Rolls Royce acquired Bentley in 1931, leading to the production of many similar cars up until 2002 when the companies were again separated. Rolls Royce has changed hands many times since 1931. In 1973 Rolls Royce Limited became a spate company to Rolls Royce Motors. This was eventually purchased by Vickers and then Volkswagen in 1998. BMW, suppliers of many components to Rolls Royce before the split actually won the rights to use the logos and rights to build the car. Throughout this time, Rolls Royce continued to produce luxury cars such as the Silver Shadow, Phantom and several different Corniches. Rolls Royce also produced several different types of limousine for a range of clients. More divisions occurred by 2002. Volkswagen took over the running of Bentley entirely and BMW took Rolls Royce, as they had the rights to build the cars themselves. Since then, new Phantom models have been released by Rolls Royce, along with Ghost.
