Whether it’s supercars that thrill
you; classic cars that have become your hobby; or certain brands and
models that catch your eye; you can find a show or event to suit you
in the UK. Taking place across the country and throughout the year,
I’ve found the best ones which will enhance your car interest and
make a fun day out or weekend.
Firstly, if you’re interested in
classic cars and the ‘golden age’ of motoring; head over to
Cheshire for a weekend this summer, and take in the display of over
2,000 classic cars. Now in its 25th year, the Cheshire
Classic and Performance Car Spectacular and Autojumble is held in
Tatton Park, Knutsford, and features every classic car from the MGR
to the Rolls Royce.
If Mini Coopers take your fancy, a
drive to the Mini
Cooper Register Rally in the New Forest is well worth a visit.
Also in its 25th year, the Rally is one of the biggest
events on the Mini calendar, and showcases Mini Coopers from 1961 to
the present day. Better still, your ticket will be subsidised if you
arrive in a Mini Cooper!
If you’re a thrill-seeker looking for
the fastest and most exhilarating cars, look no further than the
PistonHeads Performance Car Show. Featuring the most exotic and
breath-taking supercars; the show is the leading UK exhibition of
sports and performance cars, and displays cars from only the top-end
manufacturers. This exhibition also sells accessories and gadgets to
add to your car, although be careful if you’re modifying your car
as you may struggle when trying to find the cheapest
car insurance.
Autosport International is a showcase
motorsport event held annually at the NEC in Birmingham. Considered
Europe’s largest dedicated trade-only motorsport exhibition, the
show offers the chance for the trade audience to network with
industry professionals. Encompassing all areas of motorsport from
Karting to Formula One; this event takes place next January, and is
one to put in your diary.
For all-round car enthusiasts, grab
yourself a ticket for the MPH
Show which features Top Gear Live, and check out some of the
world’s most expensive supercars and best-kept classic cars. The
event is held at Earl’s Court and the NEC every year, and whilst
tickets can be fairly pricey, the hour-long live show and huge
exhibition make it a really enjoyable day out. Featuring Pagani
Zonda’s, Ferrari’s, Maserati’s, and Lamborghini’s, this is
definitely a day for your camera!
