Posted on Wednesday, 16 February 2011 02:30PM by Editor
Classic Cars For Sale are reporting that the 2011 Weaver Wander Classic and Sports Car Event will take place on Saturday the 18th of June. This event is popular with automotive enthusiasts and members of the general public alike and is always a sight to behold.

Nantwich will host the third Weaver Wander Classic and Sports Car Event, on Saturday 18th June 2011. The event is organised by members of The Rotary Club of Crewe and Nantwich Weaver, with generous event sponsorship for the second year from Car Transplants Ltd.

A 100 navigation run through Cheshire, North Wales and Shropshire for classic cars and sports cars of all ages will start from The Square, Nantwich at 10.00 a.m.

From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. there will be a static display of classic vehicles of all types on Barony Park in Nantwich, with the cars on the navigation run due to return from approximately 3.30 p.m. Three awards will be presented at 4.30 p.m. The first of which is the ‘Tub’ Reynolds award, named in memory of the late Melvyn Reynolds, a founder member of our Rotary Club and lifelong car enthusiast. This award is for the crew that best portrays the ‘sprit of the event’. The other two awards will be for the most interesting car and there is also a Club award for the best car club attendance.

The day will be rounded off by a parade of vehicles around Nantwich that will leave Barony Park at 5 p.m.

Event organiser Fred Bowers said “The first two Weaver Wander events raised over £10,000 for charities and provided free entertainment for the whole family. With past entries coming from all over the UK, we would like this event to build, not only into an annual fun day for Nantwich, but also as a major tourist attraction for the Town.

The organisers are inviting anyone with a classic car, van, truck, bus or motorcycles to join in the static display at Barony Park.

The Weaver Wander will this year raise funds for Help for Heroes and Macmillan Cancer Support with smaller amounts to other chosen Rotary charities.
